Why was the SFFCPF formed?
The Foundation was formed to aid in the prevention and detection of cancer in both active and retired firefighters of the San Francisco Fire Department. The Foundation is also involved in trying to get Workers’ Compensation coverage for firefighters with cancer.
How is the Foundation run?
The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors made up of both active and retired firefighters, some being cancer survivors, as well as civilians. We also have doctors that we consult with at UCSF.
Does the Foundation have any paid employees?
No, we do not any paid employees. All donations made to SFFCPF go directly toward our screenings and prevention program.
Is the SFFCPF a non-profit foundation?
Yes, we are a 501(c)(3) and we are registered with the State of California.
