WHO WE ARE
DEDICATED TO FIREFIGHTER HEALTH
The San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation is dedicated to identifying the causes that make cancer more prevalent in firefighters, preventing cancer through early detection, supporting changes to improve firefighter health, and providing cutting-edge care for active and retired SFFD members and their families. Our work is grounded in research, education, screenings, and health navigation to combat job-related cancer in the firefighting profession.

MAY 11-13, 7 AM TO 1 PM | 325 NEWHALL ST, SF
In partnership with UCSF, the ENGINE Study (Examining a Novel Gastrointestinal Intervention to Negate Environmental Toxicants) is testing whether an existing drug can lower PFAS levels in firefighters. The SF Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation is funding blood work for 164 firefighters — those with the highest PFAS levels will be selected for the study cohort.
If you are an active SFFD male firefighter with at least 5 years on the job, sign up for a 5-minute PFAS testing slot below.
May 11–13 | 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Local 798 Union Hall, 325 Newhall St, SF
