THE PALACE HOTEL IN SAN FRANCISCO
2026 IGNITING HOPE GALA RECAP
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF IMPACT
The Twentieth Anniversary Igniting Hope Gala brought together a sold-out crowd at the Palace Hotel to celebrate 20 years of cancer prevention work built on a single conviction: the people who protect San Francisco deserve the same protection in return.
The evening honored three UCSF physicians with the 2026 White Helmet Awards — Dr. Sima Porten, Dr. Maxwell V. Meng, and Dr. Matthew Gubens. Assemblywoman Catherine Stefani presented Founder and President Tony Stefani with a California Assembly Certificate of Recognition, and Mayor Daniel Lurie announced that Tony Stefani Way will be named alongside Station One, where Stefani served as Captain of Rescue One. A reception, silent auction, live auction, and after-party with Ritchie and the High Street Rockers rounded out the night.
